Quality: a perspective from construction history

摘要

To sum up, this review of some ideas of quality has suggested that a key concept is that of attributes of buildings which satisfy needs. The particular needs of providers of buildings arise from transactions which are growing vigorously in number. These transactions favour a view of quality based on 'hard' rather than 'soft' criteria. Discourse on quality must surely embrace both, although the relationship between the two is an interesting and shifting one.
