The winning work in the 2014 class of the AL Light & Architecture Design Awards is yet another incredible group of projects in the portfolio that has become this program's archive. This year's judging was equally as rigorous as past years, if not more so; out of more than 100 entries, only 10 projects were selected. The work you see on the pages before you, and online at archlighting.com, reconfirms light's critical role as more than just a singular design element. Light is the continuous design thread that weaves its way through the spaces in which we live, work, study, and play. Never has light been more important in making the difference to the success of our natural and built environments and the way in which we interact with them.
