BENEFITS OF INTERNATIONAL PRACTICE

The practice of Architecture abroad has long been a reality of expanding architectural practices. Legendary figures such as Wright, Le Corbusier, Foster, Meier and Piano each broadened their experiences often working in cultures quite different to their own. With modern advances in technology and communications, improved travel options, coordinated tax treaties between countries and the opening up of some very large markets in the South East Asia Region, the opportunities for Australian Architects have perhaps never looked better! So, what is it that working abroad can bring to an individual's approach to the practice of architecture, whether here or abroad? Does this enrich and benefit their experience any more than practicing only in our own homeland?
