A Practical Drive System with Accurate Rotor Position Detection for a Switched Reluctance Motor

摘要

This work has been made to achieve two goals. The first is to introduce a reliable operation by determining the least inductance of windings to start the motor from an unaligned position, based on three-pulse injection to the motor windings. The second is to enhance the performance of the whole system. This is done by vibration and harmonic reduction based on the delay angle between firing sequence pulses train. This work implements accurate rotor position estimation, which is very important for the performance operation of the switched reluctance motor. The key principle of the rotor position estimation is based on detecting and comparing of phase voltage and current responses relating to the stator inductance varied with the position of the rotor pole (maximum inductance when it is aligned and minimum inductance when it is unaligned). Experimental results are presented to verify the proposed method.
