Leopard project - an investment in the future

In the summer of 2012, the Finnish company Valmet, Espoo, formerly Metso, received an order from Sappi in Alfeld to rebuild its PM 2. The objective of the rebuild was to convert the production of graphic coated papers to multi-coated specialty papers. With this step Sappi wanted to continue to invest in the future-oriented growth market for specialty papers. The new products are specialty papers such as flexible packaging and technical papers. Valmet as manufacturer of innovative technology was clearly able to convince them of the advantages of its machinery concept during sales negotiations and received the order as main supplier for the rebuild of the PM 2.
