Profeesor M.T.Cheng: -a brief account of hit life

On 26th November 1998, Professor M.T.Cheng passed away. We, as his students, deeply yearn for him. M.T.Cheng was born on 24th , January, 1997 in Suzhou of Jiangsu province, China. In 1940, he graduated from Mathematics Department of Zhejiang University. After graduation, he became a graduate student of Professor J.G.Chen, a famous expert on alaysis. He ma- jored in the theory of Trigonometrical Series. In 1941, recommended by Professor B.Q.Su, Cheng's first article Note on Cesaro summability of Fourier serieswas published on Tohoku Mathematical Joural of Japan. In 1942, M.T.Cheng completed all his graduate courses and Got graduation.
