Electric-discharge method of water treatment. status of the problem and prospects

The article generalizes and analyzes the results of research on the action of pulsed electric charges on water, mainly for the purpose of treating it to eliminate microbial and chemical pollution. Special attention is given to the results first obtained by the authors at the Institute of Electrophysical Problems (IPEF) of the Russian Academy of Sciences with the Action of pulsed periodic discharges with pulse energy of ～ 1 J on water.
