Mike Barron presents a new edition of his famous book "Auditorium Acoustics and Architectural Design". After its first edition in 1993 it became a standard reference to the acoustics and architectural design of symphony halls, opera houses and other performance spaces. The key of the book is the survey of 40 halls, which is now extended to 45 halls. Furthermore, plans and sections of in total 80 rooms are presented in 1:500 scale. The first four chapters and the appendices contain valuable information about room acoustic theory and the set of objective quantities corresponding to perception which is considered as basis for judging the overall quality of performance spaces.
