Market disruptions point to the future but the direction is not always clear

It seems our markets are constantly being 'disrupted' by one development or another. Every entrepreneur is seeking a disruptor, a 'game changer' or a 'next big thing'. Yet, few changes in markets represent the sort of seismic and permanent shift that has far reaching and irrevocable consequences. So, we need to understand that most market disruptions are, in fact, subtle changes, cyclical movements or even just short-lived. For this analysis, we have selected three recent events, situations and circumstances that are impacting the modern pulp, paper and paper products industry. Each has been disruptive over the last year or more, and each points to trends that are, ultimately inter-related in some way.
