摘要

Class is back on the geographical agenda in ways that it hasn't been before. There's a new focus in what is now termed labour geographies on class practices and class politics in the workplace and in the community, and papers on a wide range of issues have been published in the discipline's journals. Recently, for example, Antipode [38(3), 2006] had a symposium about doing the dirty work in neoliberal economies and in the same year carried several other articles about class, about labour and about activism within a range of workplaces. Elsewhere, there is a similar resurgence of work on class-not least in the establishment of the working class studies association and the session on class at the RGS/IBG conference in London in 2006. This contribution is a revised version of my presentation there.
