The industry-university intellectual property paradox

The issue of intellectual property (IP) has become a major issue for US universities conducting basic research, especially with the introduction of the Bayh-Dole Act. Having some concern over industry-university IP issues, the Industrial Research Institute (IRI) conducted a survey among its members. This paper discusses the results of this survey and their ethical implications.
