JSM Highlights Announced, Papers Called for 2007

We have an exciting program lined up for JSM 2006, with two invited sessions scheduled and many more that our V V Section is cosponsoring. Our first invited session is on forensic statistics and organized by David Banks. Speakers include Cliff Spiegelman, who will talk about the Kennedy assassination; David Kaye, who will discuss evidence and the law; and Alicia Carriquiry, who will be looking at sources of error in evidence. Our second invited session was organized by Deepak Agarwal of AT&T Labs. The title is "Detecting Anomalies in Dynamic Multivariate Data," and speakers plan to address streaming data, scan statistics, and detecting anomalies in time series.
