How do you think attendees most benefited from JSM 2008? By far, the biggest benefit to most of those attending JSM is meeting and talking to lots of other .statisticians-people with common interests help deepen your own work, and those with nor-so-cummon interests can broaden and challenge you. People meet in different ways. My focus has been on the program, and attending technical sessions is certainly one excellent way to get acquainted with others and find out what they're doing. But JSM otters a healthy variety of other meeting opportunities (continuing education, career placement, mixers, section meetings, exhibits, etc.), and they arc all vital to a successful JSM.
