I chanced upon a wonderfully eloquent commencement address that was inadvertently attributed to Kurt Vonnegut, but actually was written by Mary Schmich of the Herald Tribune. It begins, "Wear sunscreen. If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it. The long-term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists, whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience." She went on to give other various sage pieces of advice, such as "floss, stretch, get plenty of calcium, and sing."
