Naval museum tapped for leadership award

The National Civil War Naval Museum in Port Columbus, Ga., has received the Leadership in History Award of Merit from the American Association for State and Local History for building a full-scale replica of the USS Water Witch on the museum grounds. According to AASLH, the Leadership in History awards are given "to establish and encourage standards of excellence in the collection, preservation and interpretation of state and local history in order to make the past more meaningful to all Americans."
