In addition to its work on high-efficiency prerinse spray valves, WaterSense is also working on a draft specification for residential and commercial cation exchange water softeners. The notice of intent to develop a WaterSense specification for high-efficiency water softeners was released in November 2010, and the program has been collecting information and input from stakeholders about the specification's development and other considerations.
