Cape Cod AMVETS Continue Patriotic Work of Fallen Marine

In August 2008, Marine Pfc. Daniel McGuire was killed while serving in Iraq. When members of Cape Cod AMVETS Post 333 attended McGuire's memorial service, they learned of an Eagle Scout project the young Marine left behind once duty called. McGuire had built three boxes to collect and store unserviceable American flags until they could be properly retired on Flag Day. Post 333 learned of the project and sought to carry on McGuire's legacy, completing an additional 13 flag boxes bearing McGuire's name to be placed around the community.
