Global Transportation Management Benchmark Study: Building the Business Case for Better Visibility

Welcome to American Shipper's sixth annual benchmark study of global transportation management, produced in conjunction with the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) and the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP). This report annually looks into the trends that impact how shippers and logistics service providers manage their international freight transportation processes, and the technology that helps support those processes. This year, we revisit the critical topic of visibility, but examine it in a perhaps more tangible way - that is, the business case for visibility. This report will explore how integrated global transportation visibility is to companies' existing frameworks, whether they see a return on investment from money spent on visibility, and whether funding is available to invest in global transportation management systems (TMS). The study includes the responses of 208 qualified global logistics practitioners who participated in the survey from early January through late February.
