As producers and operators discover and prove a growing array of unconventional plays, apply horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing to conventional fields, and venture into ever-deeper waters, demand for related products and services will continue to escalate. To fill that need, several seasoned hands have formed new service and supply companies with business models designed to deliver exceptional service. These new forces are a diverse group. A logging company set on providing best-in-class equipment and great service; 3. An expert on hydraulic fracturing water that can handle everything from sourcing to treating, recycling and disposal; 4. A through-tubing milling and fishing company that checks its equipment after every job to maximize reliability; and 5. A partnership that gives oil and gas companies access to insurance-linked securities as an economic alternative to insurance.
