摘要

The oil and natural gas community in Tennessee will have to find ample resources and willing representatives to continue opposing the powerful anti-development lobby during state legislative sessions, say leaders of the Tennessee Oil & Gas Association. At the association's annual convention on May 15-17 at the Franklin Embassy Suites, TOGA members discussed how they would finance the association's full-time staff, which works with state policymakers on energy matters. "There were 10 (environmental) organizations that had full-time lobbyists this year," TOGA Executive Director Chuck Laine reported during the meeting. "We are talking about a lot of power and a lot of money. Some of these organizations have $3 million budgets, and we have to be able to combat that."
