摘要

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a major cause of chronic morbidity and mortality worldwide, with smoking being the most important risk factor of the disease. COPD is known to have a genetic component; therefore, deeper knowledge of the genetic architecture of the disease could lead to further understanding of predisposition to COPD and also to development of new therapeutic interventions. To date, genome-wide association studies (GWASs) have identified several novel risk loci for COPD: CHRNA3/CHRNA5/IREB2, HHIP, and FAM13A (1-3).
