Tube laser wins industry award for innovation: System surveys the tunnels and track to ensure safe operation on the Underground

A SPATIAL measurement system that is being used on the London Underground has clinched this year's Railway Forum award for innovation. LaserPet, developed by Laser Rail, is designed to capture continuous and accurate spatial data on the railway infrastructure. The information is used by Tube maintenance company Metronet to monitor changes in tunnels and movement of the track to ensure that adequate clearance is available for safe operation.
