"A camel,; it has been said, "is a horse de- signed by a committee." This might sound like a telling example of the terrible deficiencies of committee decisions, but it is really much too mild an indictment. A camel may not have the speed of a horse, but it is a very useful and harmonious animal-well coordinated to travel long distances without food and water.
