With California, New York and other states taking a long, hard look at perc and deciding whether or not they want drycleaners to continue to use their favorite chemical, some plant owners are getting nervous. Although there's not as much hoopla about a solvent ban right now, it is still in several states' sights. With taxes in some states at or approaching $15.00 per gallon, perc is rapidly losing its ap-peal as the "perfect" solvent.
