摘要

Drycleaners marched on Washington, D.C. last month in support of H.R. 1711, a.k.a. the Barton Bill, seeking to establish a reasonable cleanup standard for drycleaning sites contaminated with perchloroethylene. Some 56 cleaners participated in the march, contacting more than 120 representatives. At press time, Barton has attracted 93 cospon-sors in the House. Howard Scott "goes green" this month, reporting on his recent trip to the Emerald Isle. Spending an afternoon at Satellite Cleaners in Cork, he discovers that owners Claire and Frank Sweeney have something in common with American operators: difficulty finding good help.
