摘要
113,870. Marshall, T. April 23, 1917. Taking up refusc for removal.-Consists of a machine for cutting and collecting barbed wire in war-destroyed areas, the machine being mounted on endless-track wheels and being provided with spiked rollers or spiked endless chains to collect the wire and pass it rearwardly through a casing towards a guillotine from which the cut wire passes down a shoot into a wagon or into a power press where it is compacted into blocks. Fig. 1 shows a pair of oppositely-moving endless spiked belts 5, 6 which are set in motion by a motor 3 through driving gear 7 so as to draw the barbed wire into a mouth formed of flared plates 8x, and pass it rearwardly of the machine through a casing 8 which converges in plan from front to rear. The casing is inclined to the path of the belts so that the spikes protrude into the casing to a gradually diminishing extent from front to rear. At each side of the mouth 8x are arranged cutting blades 9 driven by chain-gearing 10, while at the upper most end of the casing 8 a guillotine 11 leading to a shoot 13 is provided. The operative parts of the machine are mounted on a casing 1x carried by the vehicle frame 1 which is supported on endless-track wheels 2 driven by the motor 3.
