Research for production of biofuels is very intense as wenare about to run out of fossil fuels in another century. Biooilsnobtained from bio-mass through catalytic fast pyrolysisnhas high amounts of oxygen in the form of functionalngroups such as carbonyl compounds, phenolics and acids.nPresence of oxygen in bio-oils makes it undesirable to usenbecause of its low heating value, solubility problems withnother hydrocarbons, high viscosity and poor thermal andnchemical stability[1]. This undesired properties of bio-oilnobtained from catalytic fast pyrolysis can be suppressed orncompletely eliminated by removing the oxygen through thenprocess called hydrodeoxygenation. The catalysts reportednin previous studies are transition metal phosphides andnoxides, noble metals and zeolites[2].
