"Time" was the theme at this year's Austin, TX, That Takes the Cake show, and originally Elizabeth Marek was going to design a period cake, "something very 'Frenchy' and 'frou frou' but I just wasn't feeling the design. I started thinking about what time really means to most people and that is the passing of time in our own lives. The memories we create, the love we experience and the people that fill that time are the most important things in all our lives, no matter who we are or where we come from. I decided to try to capture a moment in time that represented those feelings."
