As passengers deplane from an airline flight, occasionally someone will stop at the cockpit door and say, "Good flight, Captain." It is nice to hear that. Every airline captain wants to provide a safe and smooth flight for his passengers. He wants to make a good approach and landing. It is a matter of pride and professionalism. When some of the passengers are other airline pilots, a captain knows that his flight will be under a critical review from his peers, and he will be anxious to show the best of his skills.
