Everyone loves a handsomely crafted book, but inevitably the cost to publish and distribute high-quality reference tomes in traditional (paper) form is forcing authors to look for other avenues to disseminate the results of their often many years of dedicated labor at a reasonable price. This is one such modern compromise, which delivers the story of the remarkable Dutch twin-turboprop, the most successful of all the 'DC-3 replacements', from first design thoughts in 1948 until production ended in 1986.
