It's interesting, all that has to be done to accomplish such an act. Consultation with onboard medical professionals-a doctor and two nurses-who spent hours attending to a stranger in the middle of the night, high above the earth. Their selfless acts of kindness contributed greatly to a positive outcome. With fewer than 45 minutes before landing, radio and SATCOM contact with our dispatcher, on-call medical unit in Pittsburgh, ATC, and customs seemed endless as we sought information for all involved. Fortunately, as on all long-haul flights, DAL630 was double-crewed, so we simply assigned flying and administrative duties between us.
