Dear Airways, What a great treat to read the biographical feature on Bonanza Air Lines in the February 2016 issue of Airways Magazine. I had the pleasure of flying Bonanza Air Lines' Fairchild F-27 in March 1964 from Phoenix to Las Vegas. The only other previous occasion that I flew an F-27 was aboard Ozark Airlines on a flight between Des Moines and St. Louis. The F-27 was an exceptional aircraft to travel on. I vividly remember how cordial and helpful the ground and air employees of Bonanza Air Lines were to me, as I was just 13 years old at the time. I can still recall the powerful sound of the two engines revving up. It was such a new sound, far different from those of the DC-6, Constellation and Convairs that I had traveled on. Its powerful dart engines were similar to those of the United Airlines Vickers Viscount.
