Max Power! More Max Power! You're out in the boondocks. It's quite dark, you miss a turn, and now you're on a narrow road that ends abruptly. If you're lucky you'll be able to do a 'one-eighty' and get out of there. Or you may be unlucky, as was the crew of a 30-year-old Africa-Air Charter Boeing 737-200 that had carried its safari-bound pax to South Africa's Hoedspruit Airport and was now starting the 214mi (345km) return to Johannesburg-O R Tambo International. Somehow missing the last taxi way to Runway 18, they continued straight ahead and found themselves on a tar road with no access to any runway.
