A TARGETED APPROACH TO IMPROVED ENERGY PERFORMANCE AND GREENHOUSE GAS REDUCTIONS AT GREATER TORONTO AIRPORTS AUTHORITY (GTAA)

A commitment to sustainability is a central pillar of the Greater Toronto Airport Authority's (GTAA) strategic goals. The GTAA has set clear targets for reducing utility consumption in its corporate operations by focusing on energy efficiency. As part of its long-term energy management program, the GTAA has pledged to meet the widely adopted "20/2020" target: a 20 percent reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by the end of the decade relative to its 2006 baseline. More specifically, the GTAA has targeted a 30 percent reduction in absolute energy consumption from its Terminal 3 modernization project over a 2012 baseline.
