Russian Hinds join Serbian parade

A PAIR of VKS Mi-35M attack helicopters from the 15th Army Aviation Brigade/6th Air Force and Air Defence Army took part in Serbia's Victory Day military parade on May 10. Normally based at Ostrov, the Hinds arrived in Serbia on board an An-124 transport and took part in the event in Nis, where they flew as part of the echelon formation. Currently, the 15th Army Aviation Brigade has separate squadrons of 12 Mi-28N and four Mi-35M attack helicopters, 16 Mi-8MTV-5 assault helicopters, 12 Ka-52 attack helicopters plus a detachment of four Mi-26 heavy transport helicopters. The brigade also operates Mi-8 electronic warfare helicopters. Forty-five aircraft from the Serbian Air Force and Air Defence took part in the parade, including nine of an available ten MiG-29s.
