Valery Okulov, the general director of Aeroflot, has confirmed that the airline will make its decision on the winner of its long-haul tender for 20 aircraft by mid-March. The announcement confirmed the statement made by Sergei Kharitonov, the airline's deputy director for strategic development, in January, that a contract would be signed by March. Both Khartinov and Okulov are reluctant to discuss which manufacturer might have won the tender, arguing that the early release of the information ahead of the official announcement would damage good terms between the parties involved.
