Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCAC) will replace the 10 SSJ100 Superjets it delivered to Aeroflot with new ones with an upgraded configuration. The Russian carrier will receive the aircraft on finance lease from VEB Leasing. The manufacturer will deliver aircraft with full configuration of the interior. The new light configuration of the SSJ100 is simplified and has a different number of economy and business-class seats. Aeroflot says the replacement is not related to the SSJ100 faults it reported recently. The exchange was part of the original agreement between the parties in 2005. The carrier ordered SSJ100s with full configuration, but the manufacturer could not provide the requested version on time because of capacity issues.
