Airbus to hit market with Balthazar

Airbus is in the market with an insurance-guaranteed structure, dubbed project Balthazar, for financing Airbus aircraft, say sources. The European manufacturer and aircraft broker Marsh will, this year, co-launch Balthazar, an insurance-guaranteed product designed for bank and investors that fund new aircraft purchases from Airbus. Airfinance Journal understands that an insurance policy is almost in place and that a transaction could materialise this summer.
