M&A Deal of the Year: Goshawk Aviation/Sky Leasing acquisition and $900m unsecured financing

Goshawk Aviation acquired Irish lessor Sky Aviation Leasing International from the Public Sector Pension Investment Board, one of Canada's largest pension investment managers, and private-equity firm ATL Partners in September 2018. Airfinance Journal reported on 31 May 2018 that Goshawk had been involved in the bidding process, along with Avic International Leasing and Aviation Capital Group. Chinese lessor Avic was originally the frontrunner, but was pipped to the post by Goshawk.
