Stonecipher resigns over affair

Boeing's board is looking for a CEO for the second time in two years after Harry Stonecipher resigned. The board accepted his resignation after an ethics investigation revealed details of an affair with Debra Peabody, a human resources executive at Boeing's office in Arlington, Virginia. Boeing said that, although Stonecipher had not given Peabody any preferential treatment as a result of the affair - Peabody did not report to Stonecipher, but worked for Boeing's chief Washington lobbyist, Rudy deLeon - the affair nevertheless broke a code of ethics that Stonecipher had put in place.
