GULFSTREAM HAS MOVED one step closer to flight testing its new G600 long-range business jet, after joining the wing and fuselage on the first flight test aircraft. The G600 is a new design intended as an alternative to the company's flagship G650, but with similar speed and range. The G600 is designed to fly 6,200 nm/11,482 km at Mach 0.85 or 4,800 nm/8,890 km at Mach 0.90. Gulfstream estimates that the G600's high speed has the potential to save frequent flyers more than 50 hours of travel time per year over competitor aircraft.
