For Andrew Herdman,, director general of the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) it is all consuming, but he's passionate about the job, having run the trade organisation for 12 years, after a number of senior roles at Cathay Pacific and its parent, Swire Group. The Kuala Lumpur-based AAPA has 16 international airline members, which carry 620 million passengers and 18 million tonnes of cargo annually, representing one-quarter of global passenger traffic and two-fifths of global air cargo traffic respectively.
