To say we were saddened to read "Can This Airport Be Saved?" (Oct./ Nov. 2014) only begins to convey our disappointment at what many of us at Santa Monica Airport perceive as a betrayal and a disservice to the institution of journalism and to all who fly. We have issues with the accuracy and presentation of the "facts," as well as what we perceive is an editorial bias. To begin: I did not found Angel Flight West. That honor goes to Dennis Torres of Malibu, California. In 1983, I was one of about a dozen individuals who, with Dennis, began to develop the American Medical Support Flight Team Los Angeles into what has become Angel Flight West. I am also not the head of the Air Care Alliance. While I am the founder and first president, I have been emeritus status for more than a decade.
