摘要

With the increased attention on the health impacts of air pollution and the public clamour for information and action resulting from the air pollution episodes in Beijing, Delhi and other Asian cities early in 2013, Asian countries and cities should take immediate action to reduce air pollution in Asian cities. In this technical report, Clean Air Asia, a non-government organization working since 2001 for better air quality and liveable cities in Asia, shares its analyses and updates on (1) air quality in Asian cities, (2) health impacts of air pollution in Asia, and (3) air quality management in Asian cities and countries. In the concluding section of the paper, Clean Air Asia shares nine (9) goals for 2016 which stakeholders can work towards to achieve better air quality and liveable cities in Asia. These goals were accepted in December 2012 by more than 250 organizations which are members of the Clean Air Asia Partnership.
