Final Action Taken on Methyl Bromide Quarantine and Preshipment Exemption

On January 2, 2003 (68 FR 238-254), EPA issued a final rule that provides quarantine and preship-ment applications with an exemption from the methyl bromide phaseout requirements. EPA had previously exempted such uses of methyl bromide in an interim final rule issued July 19, 2001 (66 FR 37752). The interim exemption from the ozone-depleting substance (ODS) production and consumption phaseout requirements for methyl bromide preshipment and quarantine applications was in effect through December 31, 2002.
