Airbus will open an A320 final assembly line in the United States. Thefacility will be located in Mobile, Alabama, becoming the European manufacturer's first in North America and the second outside Europe, after the final assembly line at Tianjin in the People's Republic of China. It will be located next to an existing Airbus engineering centre at the Brookley Aeroplex. Construction work is due to start next year, with the facility to begin assembling aircraft in 2015 and roll out its first examples in 2016. It will employ over 1,000 people and will produce the new A320neo family.
