Sweden has decided to withhold the Lockheed TP84 Hercules transport and 70 personnel it had committed to the Mali Peacekeeping Force from October 1. Defence minister Karin Enstroem stated that the airfields in northern Mali, where the aircraft was to have been based, are not suitable for it. Sweden is now assessing whether the TP84 could carry out its mission from airfields in Uganda.
