The Typhoon's lightweight titanium foreplanes are one of the most distinctive features of the aircraft. They also play an important role in the jet's aerodynamic capabilities. The onboard computers make rapid adjustments to the foreplanes - their position is adjusted 50 times per second - enabling Typhoon pilots to turn sharply.
