Alenia Aermacchi, in partnership with American company ATK, is offering a multi-mission, multi-role tactical transport aircraft dubbed the MC-27J - a specialised variant of the baseline C-27J Spartan airlifter -with a new roll-on/roll-off (RORO) payload concept. The general layout of the MC-27 J is for the cargo mission, but it can be converted to a multi-role aircraft capable of air-to-surface strike and C2ISR (command, control, intelligence surveillance, reconnaissance) roles in less than four hours.
