Kenya Airways has received its first Boeing 737-3U8SF freighter (5Y-KQC, c 29088) from Aeronautical Engineers and Boeing Shanghai Aviation Services in Shanghai, China. It was the first of four passenger 737-300s to be converted for freight duties for the airline in response to growing demand across Africa. The first aircraft was redelivered during a ceremony on March 20. Kenya Airways hassix737-300s and first announced the conversion programme in October 2012. The second converted freighter is due for completion in June. The 737s will complement the Boeing 747 Safari Connection freighter operated by Kenya Airways, KLM and Martin Air from Guangzhou, China.
